Wednesday morning - Two Steps

Two Steps is known for its snorkeling, and it happens to be my parents favorite all time place to snorkel. It's called two steps because you literally pull your snorkel gear on and do one of two things. One - dive into the water. Two - slide your butt down on the two steps and awkwardly plop into the water, where you're immediately in 7-8 feet of water. The latter is truly awkward, particularly since the waves and tide can work against you by pushing you back into the rock!

The most amazing thing about two step snorkeling is that it's everywhere! First time adventurers soon discover that the snorkeling begins as soon as you've jumped into the water, and it gets better and better the farther you swim out from shore. The fish are as colorful and unique as only a Creator could muster. I couldn't help but be amazed and astounded at the beauty beneath and around me.

The girls were content to play at the protected beach next to Two Steps. The beach was shallow and warm. While three would snorkel, one would stay to keep a close eye on the girls. And Hannah needed close supervision, as she would toddler fearlessly into the water. They both enjoyed digging, playing with driftwood and making "stone soup".

Once you've had your fill of Hannah's cuteness, you can look at the background and get a feel for "Two Steps". Its rocky terrain and immediate drop-off into a snorkeling paradise is truly unique.

Who is this brave girl up to her neck in water? Do I know you?
